On February 18, 2015, WDTV reported that Fransisco Nunez was booked into the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on February 18, 2015 after being arrested by police in relation to an attempted homicide in Elkins, West Virginia. The hunt for the man ended Wednesday night after a search warrant was served at a mobile home in Randolph county in the Montrose area near Leading Creek Road.
The original incident leading up to the arrest occurred at the intersection of 11th Street and South Henry on Tuesday the 17th. Mr. Nunez is suspected of firing shots in downtown Elkins on that Tuesday night. At around 8:00pm officers responded to a call of shots fired in the vicinity of 11th Street near McDonald's. Police recovered shell casings at the scene. Nearby residents reported that the shots were fired into a car containing a woman and a child, although that information was not confirmed by the police at this time of this report.
The officers who served the warrant found not only their suspect, but they also recovered stolen firearms, a large amount of cash, pills, and drug paraphernalia.
